Screw Flanders

I enjoy SNL circa 1996-1998.

Conversation between me and Joe:

Me: What would you say if I said I never want to have kids?
Joe: I don't understand the point of the question.
Me: I'm just asking how you would feel if I didn't want to have kids.
Joe: Well, I know that's ridiculous because I know you want to have kids.
Me: What if I didn't?
Joe: I'd find someone else who did.

I heard two of the best things ever on the radio today.

1) "Insane in the Brain" by Cypress Hill during "94 minute 90's" on 94.1 The Zone. I think that song was cool when I was in about 5th grade... about 10 years ago.
2) A dance club remix (or remake) of "Don't Fear the Reaper" by BOC.

What is it with a lack of hot water in Rochester?! The last 3 places I've lived, when I try to take a bath, there's not even enough hot water to fill the bathtub! Gaaaahhhhhhhh! (reason #37 that I prefer to shower)

Wendolene17: honey?

Auto response from Rhettbutler81: It's a sad thing trying to live up to someone else's memory. You feel like the fool who hopes he can win a losing battle.

Wendolene17: honey i want you to know that i love you and i never expect you to be anyone but who you are
Wendolene17: i have never wanted you to be like anyone else
Wendolene17: you are everything to me that everyone else cannot be
Wendolene17: you are the one and only person i want to spend the rest of my life with
Wendolene17: i love you very very much, and i'm sorry that i had feelings that hurt you, but i want you to know that i don't have those feelings anymore
Wendolene17: i love you and i want you to know that no one else will ever be my bunbun

Here's me today, with my new perm.

Here's me about 3 weeks ago.

And here's me and Joe... though neither of us looks particularly delightful.

P.S. As a photo snob, I feel I must tell you that these pictures were taken with a "camera phone," which is why I had to take the photos in my bathroom - the light fixture above the sink is the only light in my apartment that lets me take a decent picture. The concept of a camera phone is cool, but the technology isn't the greatest.

Are you ever fascinated by a song even though it makes you feel awful? In case you haven't guessed, I currently am.

Yet another day of skool... Will it end?

"Dressing up a penis for Halloween via the LifeStyles Center:
how many colors and flavors can you dress one up as?"

Grammar aside, really, I'm sick of SUNY trying to shove condoms down my throat.

Awesome, there are 2 cop cars with flashing lights right in front of my house. And an SUV with all of its doors open and no one inside. Awesome.

In a recent study, research concluded that "kids' TV use may impact reading." (News to me!) According to a survey, "kids in the 6 months to 6-year-old age group spend about two hours a day watching television, playing a video game or using a computer. That’s roughly the same amount of time they spend playing outdoors and three times as long as they spend reading or being read to."

While sad, I thought that sounded about right. However, this next finding shocked me: "The report, which was being released Tuesday, found about one-third of children 6 and younger have TVs in their rooms." Six and younger?! I've never had a TV in my room in my whole life, much less when I was too young to even remember it! I did this crazy thing called READING. My parents read to me, I read Nancy Drew, the Hardy Boys, the Little House on the Prairie series... I played outside, I helped my dad stack wood, I raked leaves. When's the last time you saw a kid raking leaves? I had to do that crap all the time! I guess I'll just enjoy myself by feeling superior due to my TV-less upbringing.

I like things that are great. This is one of those things.

Does anyone know who this is just by looking at the picture? And holy nuts, isn't it awful?

We had a "Girls Night" tonight for the first time really since I've been in Rochester. I went over to Tori's with Evinn and Lauren and we made brownies and talked about a whole bunch of stuff. It was nice. I hope we do it again sometime soon.
